A Sense of Plate

“A Sense of Plate” is Sterling College’s local and sustainable food action group.  Composed of students, faculty, and staff, the group seeks to increase the use of local and sustainable foods at Sterling College and in the greater community.  In doing so, it strives to educate others about the importance of local food and sustainable agriculture, support Vermont farmers and producers, and reduce Sterling’s environmental impact.

  1. Hey Foodies,

My name’s Megan and I am the New England regional organizer for the Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive (CoFed- http://www.cofed.org). CoFed is an organization that supports and inspires student to create cooperative food cafes or storefronts on college campuses across the country. A friend of mine was recently telling me about Sterling College and after perusing your website I’ve come to the conclusion that you it seems like a super awesome and unique school. I am interested in talking with you all more about what CoFed is and seeing if any of you are interested in the potential of starting a food co-op at Sterling. Would there be any specific person I should contact to start this conversation?
I’m going to be up in northern Vermont sometime between 4/6- 4/9 and would love to meet with some of you. Feel free to shoot me an email- megan.meo@cofed.org. Look forward to hearing from you all.

    be well
    Megan
