Corie is famous

We all know that the pinnacle of fame in Vermont is making it into the Burlington Free Press.  Our very own Corie Pierce just pulled that off, figuring prominently in an article about new farmers in Vermont.  Take a look here.

“Because cows don’t go to school and tomatoes don’t dial 911”

We know that our farms here in Vermont are important, but sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint precisely why.  Cow-dotted landscapes with red barns and grassy green fields are really pretty and we like being able to buy food from our neighbors.  But it’s more than that: even in a state that has been hemorrhaging dairy farms for the last half-century, farms are an enormous part of our state’s economy and well-being.  UVM’s Vern Grubinger illustrates why in this recent Burlington Free press article.
